If you have any questions, or want to discuss anything please contact any one of our coaches or Ruth Watson 01620822897 info@cas-architects.com

What to wear
Please ensure your child is dressed according to the weather conditions. They will need shorts and a t-shirt with track suit bottoms and a sweatshirt most evenings. During winter a long-sleeved top is recommended together with gloves, a hat and a coat. Waterproofs will be needed in wet conditions and a change of clothes.
Your child will need trainers to wear during activities. Spike shoes are recommended for the older athletes with short length spikes for use on the track (longer spikes would be required for wearing to cross country events).

Please bring a drink with you to training.

We currently take part in a number of events throughout the year as well as informal competitions with our neighbouring clubs Dunbar Juniors, Musselburgh Athletic Juniors and Lasswade Juniors.
We compete at National, Regional and Local level. Our athletes, either individually or as a team depending on the competition, take part in the National Indoor and Outdoor Age Group Championships, in the East District Cross Country League races and Relay competition, in the East District Track and Field Championships, Borders Cross Country Series, Scottish Indoor League at the Emirates Stadium (as part of a combined Team East Lothian), Central and Southern Scotland Athletics League CSSAL ( as part of a combined Team East Lothian), Forth Valley Outdoor League at Grangemouth Stadium and the National Cross Country Championships. We also enter athletes in open graded track and field competitions held frequently throughout the year. Please note you have to be 9 years old to take part in most of these competitions.
Team East Lothian was established in 2012 to compete in larger track and field competitions and is a combination of athletes from all three East Lothian athletics clubs. Specialist combined training is provided at Meadowmill Sports Centre Track on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening. All athletes have to meet certain criteria and have to be at least 11 years old in order to train with Team East Lothian. Jamie Wilson and Ruth Watson are also coaches with Team East Lothian. If anyone is interested in training with Team East Lothian please speak to Jamie Wilson, Jamie Bowie East Lothian Athletics Development Officer, or Ruth Watson.

Code of behaviour:
If at any one session, the athlete does not comply with the standards set out in The Athlete Code of Conduct, the club/coaches will:-
On the first occasion give a verbal warning;
On the second occasion, in the presence of another coach, issue a final verbal warning;
On the third occasion, in the presence of another coach, the athlete will be asked to sit out the rest of the session. The club will then speak to the athlete’s parents/carer;
If at a subsequent session there is a re-occurrence, the club will write to the athlete’s parents/carer formally informing them of the athletes behaviour and state that further breaches of the Code of Conduct will result in the athlete being expelled from the club.

SAL Affiliation Fee
The club is affiliated to Scottish Athletics Limited (SAL) and we are required to pay an annual affiliation fee for each athlete. This is included in your annual subscription fee. This is NOT your annual membership of Scottish Athletics. Scottish Athletics phone number 0131 476 7321.
The main form of communication is by e-mail and Facebook.
We also issue notes/newsletters on training evenings and information is posted on the club notice board which is in the Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington.
We also have two Facebook pages, one for the club and one for the group members. If you “like” or “friend” these pages you will receive any correspondence posted to them and you can even add information/photos yourself.
