National Cross Country – Falkirk

Perfect weather for x country, freezing! Rain, gusty wind anAnd a course that after several races prior to the Senior men’s, looked more like the Somme than a park .
Three laps for the senior men’s race 12k and two laps for the senior ladies’ 8k although there was two or three ladies who ran both races (think they where Bog Trotters) !

Once the race got under way it was a matter of finding the best line through the mud. Going round any bends was interesting, the top half of your body wanted to go in a different direction than the bottom half!

Hats off to the race officials and marshals who had to put up with some awful weather for the whole day.

There were 571 starters.

H.E.L.P runners:
David Woods – 51.42
Bill Watson – 55.34
Frank McPartland – 55.51
Sandy Wallace – 60.57
